Not only do I feel really welcome here, but the classes SCC provides are also really engaging and stimulating!

After completing Shoreline Community College’s High School Completion Program through taking extensive online courses from Taiwan, I have successfully received my high school diploma and I am so excited to continue on my journey to obtain my associate’s degree in America! Although I had initially felt nervous and overwhelmed during my first quarter, the feelings of uneasiness and shyness soon evaporated as the extremely supportive staff and helpful advisors assisted me when I stumbled upon several frustrating difficulties. Moreover, through the active and inclusive learning environment encouraged and incorporated by the instructors, I look forward to participating in class discussions and can comfortably reach out to professors whenever a question arises.

Here, SCC offers a wide array of leadership opportunities and student engagement options ranging from creating clubs, being a tutor, and joining the Associated Student Government (ASG), to applying for a position as an International Student Leader (ISL) and many other roles. Not only have I seen progress in my academics, but I have also seen substantial growth in my leadership, team working, and social skills as an ISL. The opportunities offered at SCC will definitely aid me in being one step closer to my academic goals and career dreams!

Testimonial

Something I really like about the Shoreline educational system is its flexibility; I have the freedom to choose my classes based on those that best fit my schedule and my goals. That makes me a more structured person, and gives me time and space to do extracurricular activities, like mentoring my fellow students as an International Student Leader, or being an active member in clubs like the TriHex Club, the SCC Engineering Club, and the Math Club. What's more, I have time to think about my academic path, and with the help of my advisors, I remain highly confident in my successful transition through Shoreline Community College.

good friend, good life.

It is a really fun experience for me to be studying abroad since it is my first experience to do so. I get to meet a lot of people all over the world that I never imagine that i will meet, such as Japanese, Korean, Native American, or Mexican. It is truly a good experience to meet variable group of people, but studying still is the most important goal!
