Sunway College's excellent prospects offered pulled me to study here!

Sunway College JB had already built its brand name and my brother and sister had also studied there prior to my joining. One particular reason that pulled me to College was the MUFY programme (Monash was my first choice of university), and seeing the excellent track record of its students and the prospects offered, I knew it was the right choice for me.

My most memorable experiences at College would definitely be the co-curricular activities where I served as a Student Ambassador as well vice president of the Community Outreach Club. Under the guidance and mentorship of excellent advisors, I feel that the experiences as a whole have nurtured my leadership capabilities in addition to teaching me to give back to society.

Great campus life for students

I relocated to Johor because my parents had decided to move the business here. Naturally, Sunway College Johor Bahru was the choice for my A-Level studies as it was an established institution with a good track record. My learning experience has so far, been a positive one – the lecturers are knowledgeable and experienced. More importantly, they are willing to share information and skills beyond what is required and this is priceless education.
I have also taken the opportunity to benefit from the various out of class activities available and I am presently serving as a Student Ambassador. This appointment allows me to develop my leadership skills in addition to teaching me teamwork. I am also a member of the Toastmasters Club which helps me build confidence in public speaking while the Leo Club provides opportunities for me to serve the community as a volunteer in the various outreach projects organised.

Comprehensive facilities

As an international student living far away from family, we do not have the luxury of having all the comforts of home. We have to be cost conscious and cannot afford to over-spend. Fortunately, the facilities provided by the college really helped when I needed study resources and IT facilities to complete my assignments. Furthermore, I found the practical training centre extremely helpful in giving me a realistic experience in hands-on learning for the service industry. The level of English here in Malaysia is also better so it helps me to improve, as I plan to work in customer service when I graduate.

Highly recommended institution for hospitality studies

When I planned to further my studies after saving enough, I did some research about hospitality schools in the region. I heard about the reputation of Sunway from my mentor in Singapore and decided to apply there as it was quite close to home. I am now in my second year of studies and I find the standards of the Diploma in Hotel Management, which I am pursuing really good! I am learning a lot and hope to continue my studies at degree level. I intend to work in Singapore upon graduation.
