Can it even get better?

Imagine being on a big campus next to the sea, going to lectures given by inspiring and world-leading researchers, doing some practical work at the beach or on a boat with students sharing the same interests as you… that’s what my experience at the University of Plymouth has been like. And that is just a small part of it. So far, my years spent at university are probably the best years of my life and I’m so happy to live this experience in Plymouth. Studying here is great for so many reasons… first, the location of the campus is amazing. How great is it than you can just get out of your lecture theatre or from the library after a good study session and go to the sea.. within 10mn by walk?! And if you’re lucky enough to be using the Marine station next to Sutton harbour, then you’ll even have to walk along the sea to go and study there… how better could this be? Aside from the facilities and the campus, the student life is great. Depending on what you’re interested in: arts, running, diving, sailing, surfing, baking, sustainability…. You’ll always find clubs or societies that suit you! I’ve joined many different ones: some related to my degree (the Marine biology society), some to try new sports (e.g. athletics)… And by joining clubs and societies, you’ll meet lots of other students with the same interests as you; and that’s how you’ll make great friends! As a local student there’s so much to do in Plymouth, whether you like partying or like being outside exploring the area. I personally enjoy going on hikes around Devon & Cornwall, as we have an amazing Coastal Path. On a nice day you can go explore the different beaches on the coast such as Wembury or Whitsand Bay, go surfing, kayaking, diving… Plymouth has so much to offer, and I think every student has a different experience of the life there… It is really diverse in terms of activities, people, areas and you’ll always find something you enjoy!
