The best home in the UK for studying and living!
Been living in York for 3 years makes me feel very homey and enjoyable. During my study at the University of York, I also found a new academic environment beyond my expectation. Also in relation to my PhD, I got the best supervisors so far and very relevant to my research interest.

Fantastic uni experience!
I'm so glad I chose the University of York to pursue my undergrad degree as I've had an absolutely terrific experience. What I love best about the university is the college system- it gives you a chance to be a part of your own little community outside of your degree. The incredible support available at the university and the range of opportunities available outside of my degree, from societies to volunteering to work experience have played a big part in my university experience.

Good balance of academics and extracurricular
The university is world class, with very good lecturers. It also encourages involvement in societies with over 200 societies available and a chance to make your own. The university cares a lot about the wellbeing of the students as well.

Great University!
I've had a great experience as a postgraduate student at the University of York. It is not only a great place to study, but also a great place to live and experience the UK. I have been able to meet other students that come from all around the world, so studying here has not only helped me to grow academically, but has also been a great social experience. I love York, I would definitely recommend choosing it as your future university.

Integrity of the university is strong
The integrity of the University, its courses and teaching is strong in my experience. Professors are truly interested in connecting with students to share their lifelong passions and to persuade students to dedicate themselves to these disciplines as well. The library is a great study space, but Biology has its own study area, which is also a nice alternative study space. I am involved in Yoga Society which is a great reflective and flexible way for exercising. All my expectations for University have been met at York, where I met lots of diverse people who have shaped me and enriched my experience and life.

Great experience
I think the University of York has been extremely well suited to my needs as a postgraduate student. My Department and the community it creates has been the best part of my experience. The Department is young and vibrant and very willing to help out all of their students, the Humanities Research Centre is an amazing space for humanities postgrads and the city itself is a great place to live and study. They have so many societies to join, and the Graduate Students Association provides activities for postgrads. Funding has been the biggest obstacle - I was only aware of one type of scholarship, which I was not awarded, although they have a few more options now for international students. Nevertheless, funding is limited and competitive, so that is something to keep in mind when applying, particularly if you would rely on outside funding.

Having a lovely time so far
I've only just finished my first year but I'm loving my university experience so far. I've gotten the opportunity to get involved in so many volunteering activities on campus as well as clubs and societies, stuff that has definitely boosted my CV. The campus is absolutely lovely and I've managed to make many friends during my time here thus far, despite my initial homesickness and anxieties about coming to university. The staff in my department are also very helpful and friendly and they've been very willing to help us in any way they can. The university has a great support system and a vibrant and active student environment, so you definitely won't regret applying and coming here to further your studies.

Great time in studying at the University of York
I came to York with little educational background in politics. The lecturers and tutors are so nice here, not just being knowledgable but also caring and inspiring. Love the wide range of modules that it offers, and also met people from all cultures. That is why I stay for my PhD. Strongly recommend York to everyone who wants to have world-class education and meets interesting people.

Best studying journey
The University of York offers lots of opportunities apart from the course, like career insight days, studying a foreign language, volunteering week, etc. After these three years I felt like I improved myself as a whole, not only the academic aspects, but also personal ability. The staffs are helpful and friendly, I just felt really lucky to choose this university

The University that delivers excellence in all aspects
Both the University of York and the city itself provides a multitude of exciting opportunities to broaden your knowledge, get useful experience and learn more about the culture of the UK. During my time here, I have learned a lot in both my field of study and as a person, thanks to the vibrant student life fuelled by experienced academics and a diverse community of students. A huge number of societies catering for any interest imaginable particularly impressed me during my application process, and helped me discover my passion for an unexpected hobby! Check out the list of student-run societies at the Students Union (YUSU) website - you are guaranteed to find something for yourself, or if not - start a new one :)
