One of the prime examples of investment is the new North Wales Medical School at the university. This brand-new building is fully equipped to offer a number of medical-related qualifications, with professional-grade equipment and learning spaces tailored to the needs of the next generation of medical students. The university is now accepting applications for its first intakes at the Medical School.
The university has also worked with a selection of the biggest organizations and businesses in the world on research projects. Recent examples of the exciting studies conducted at Bangor include collaborations with Meta on mixed reality, a look at understanding how to overcome limitation of 5G networks and tackling obesity related problems.

There are several funding support options available to students at the university, including some specifically aimed at UK applicants and a selection of international scholarships, many of which are available to students of all countries except for the UK.
Scholarship values range up to GBP 10,000 per year and are often paid directly to the university in lieu of tuition fee payments, reducing the amount that students have to pay and/or lowering the loans that students must take out in order to begin their studies. Qualification criteria vary depending on the specific scholarship – some reward academic achievement or other talents, while others help to level the playing field for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
More funding options are available to international students alongside these scholarships, provided by third parties – a list of the options and application methods can be browsed on the university website. Students can also get help finding part-time work to fit around their studies as another means of paying for their course and living expenses.
There are several routes of entry to study at Bangor University for international students, depending on the level of education already received. If students have not completed a high school qualification equivalent to British A-levels or an International Baccalaureate, they can join a 4-year course incorporating a Year Zero at the Bangor University International College (BUIC), before progressing onto a three-year degree.
Students who have got a school leaving qualification can apply to join a three-year degree in the first year, and there is also the option for transfer students to move straight onto the second year of a degree if they have commenced university studies elsewhere already.
All courses at Bangor University are taught in English, so students will need to provide a test score from an accepted provider as proof of their ability to understand the language sufficiently to study.
