The Courtauld Institute of Art is a centre for the study of the history and conservation of art and architecture. The Institute is an independent college of the University of London and was established in 1930. It is located at Somerset House, London. The College offers undergraduate, graduate diploma, postgraduate, research and collaborative research degrees. The areas of study available at the College are classical/Byzantine/medieval, renaissance, early modern Europe, modern and contemporary, history of dress, conservation and technology and wall painting conservation.
