Through the course, students develop their academic and English language skills so they can enter directly onto the first year of an undergraduate degree at the University of Manchester.

Scholarships aren’t currently available for INTO Manchester. However, scholarship schemes are regularly reviewed and may become available in the future. Progression scholarships for successful pathway students may be available, amounts will vary.

Since opening in 2008, INTO Manchester has guided more than 1,300 student into successfully gaining placement on an undergraduate university course, or progressing confidently with their career ambitions.

Students who complete the course are guaranteed progression to one of NCUK’s 28 partner universities, and also have the freedom to apply to universities across the whole UK.

To be eligible to study at INTO Manchester, international students will need to meet a small number of academic and English language requirements. The centre recognises the diverse educational backgrounds of international students, and works to accept and consider applications from a wide range of students, recognising educational certifications from around the world.
The following are key criteria for students aiming to undertake an INTO course:
Academic requirements – students will need to have completed 12 years of school (or equivalent) and have finished with good grades that reflect the requisite academic ability.
English language requirements – IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum of 5.0 in writing and no less than 4.5 in any subskill) or equivalent

International students at INTO Manchester are taught by a dedicated and experienced team of teaching staff, who are passionate about their subjects and enthusiastic about the success of their students.
Students benefit from small class sizes, with interactive teaching methods supported by high-quality learning materials and assessment techniques including regular progress reports. All English language courses are accredited by the British Council, and all academic programmes are accredited by The University Consortium, NCUK.
Students are exposed to a full range of teaching methods, including traditional lectures and seminars, as well as enquiry-oriented classes. Participation is encouraged, with interactive class work and virtual materials available to enhance engagement.
Incoming international students will each be assigned a personal tutor, who will be a regular contact throughout the year, and can help students with their academic work, as well as settling in to student life. They are friendly and approachable, and can provide assistance in numerous areas, and also refer students to the appropriate support services if needed.
The INTO Centre has a team of language advisors, who assist international students with English language communication.
Students who progress into undergraduate degree courses at the University of Manchester will be taught by expert and passionate staff, many of whom are internationally renowned for their work, and have valuable insights which they share with their students.
INTO Manchester is proud to provide a broad range of services to support its students throughout their learning experience. The student services team is friendly and approachable and offers many services and resources, such as an international student orientation scheme, language support and guidance for settling into city life. Upon arrival in the UK, students can receive visa support through workshops and personal meetings.
In addition to this, staff co-ordinate a yearly programme of events and social activities to encourage students to meet new people, make friends and have fun in their new home.
Manchester is a large city, and reasonable safety measures are recommended. The university and INTO Centre is mindful of the security and wellbeing of all its students. There is an emergency contact number, which is available 24/7, and all halls of residence provide CCTV surveillance, secure door entry systems, and 24/7 support.
