University Academy 92 is a truly distinctive higher education institution based in Manchester, UK co-founded by the famous Manchester United Class of 92 and Lancaster University, which is in the top 10 in the UK (Complete University Guide 2024).
UA92 develops academic knowledge with learned life skills, ensuring students will be fully prepared for their future beyond their degree. This includes a deliberately different approach with a focus on personal development and involvement from industry.
Organisations such as Manchester United, Microsoft and KPMG have not only co-developed the curriculum, but are an integral part of the learning experience, providing students with regular guest lectures, industry insight days and masterclasses.
UA92 offers undergraduate programmes in the worlds of business, sport, media and digital. The programmes are delivered across two campuses in Manchester. Each location has been designed to support student success and students have access to the newest technology most relevant for their course and future career.
There are many course options available to students at UA92.
Students learn about the production, consumption and effects of contemporary media and master current digital technologies to create engaging media content, they may choose to specialise in sports journalism or sports media and communications. UA92’s professional media studio and podcast room allow students to practice and present using real-life equipment.
Students interested in studying sport benefit from UA92’s strong links with industry partners including Manchester United, Salford City FC and Lancashire Cricket Club. Degrees include Sports and Exercise Science, Sports Coaching and Physical Education.
Digital graduates are in high demand, and UA92’s courses provide a gateway into many careers. Co-developed with Microsoft and other industry partners, digital degrees in computer science and cyber security provide an emphasis on software development and computer programming.
Taught in the brand-new Business School with input from world-leading organisations like KPMG, students benefit from unique workplace experiences such as insight days, masterclasses and guest lectures. Degrees offered include business management, accounting and finance, and a specialised sport management degree.
UA92 puts character and personal development at the core of each student’s learning experience, with a strong emphasis on building skills that employers want.
This is delivered through the 92 Programme, embedded into every block of study with character and personal development focus days. During these focus days, students will complete activities designed to get them set for future success. The areas of focus are professionalism, strengths, wellness and personal development.
To support student success, subject modules are taught individually. This means that students focus on one subject, learning the content and being assessed within a six-week study block. This allows students to really focus, rather than juggling multiple subjects at one time. Upon completion of the block, students will move to the next subject after a short one-week break.
Students’ timetables of compulsory classes are straightforward. They will either be a ‘morning student’ in class between 9am and 1pm, or an ‘afternoon student’ in class between 2pm and 6pm.
In most cases, students’ timetables will remain fixed throughout each academic year to make it easier for students to organise their lives and have time for part-time work, volunteering or sports. For most, attendance at campus on Wednesdays won’t be compulsory.
There are multiple intakes to allow students to start their studies when they are ready. Students can begin in September, November, January, February, April or June. Accelerated programmes begin in September, January and April only.
The unique model at UA92 allows students to complete their undergraduate degree in as little as two years. Students will study six blocks each year (rather than four), with a shorter summer break. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to finish their degree and get into employment sooner.

There are three scholarship options available to students in the new intake. Two of these will be highly competitive and provide significant discounts on tuition fees for the first year.
UA92 Global has announced this new scholarship as a celebration of the area of Manchester where the institution is based. Two students will be rewarded with this scholarship, which will give them 50 percent off their tuition fees for the first year of study.
UA92 has also announced the Women in Leadership scholarship, which will celebrate equal rights and diversity. This is also worth 50 percent of first year tuition fees, and again two students will receive it.
This scholarship is given to all students who make their payments before the deadline, and is worth GBP 1,000.
UA92 offers entry at three different levels, depending on a student’s academic and language background:
Entry requirements for each level vary by country and educational system, typically ranging from specific grade averages or examination scores to completion of certain levels of education.
There are also English language requirements to consider. For the foundation programmes, students must have an overall score of 5.5 with no unit below 5.5. The overall score requirement increases to 6.0 for Integrated Year One programmes, and 6.5 for Direct Year One programmes.
UA92’s facilities were designed for students, and so there are no large cold lecture theatres or maze-like libraries. Instead, students study in a modern professional working environment with small classrooms to echo the small class sizes (30 max), breakout spaces for collaboration and technology to support learning and prepare for their future career.
The original UA92 campus opened in Old Trafford in 2019 and offers a modern, friendly environment in the sporting heart of Manchester. Onsite there is access to the latest industry-grade technology and digital learning resources, study spaces, Cafe92 and table tennis or Teq-ball, plus paid access to a student gym and fitness zone.
The UA92 Business School is the central hub for World of Business students, and the home of the International Foundation Programme. This exciting new building is in the centre of the city and offers modern classrooms, flexible student spaces, group study booths and social spaces.
UA92 offers Academy Apartments, which are stylish, modern studio or one-bed apartments. Fully furnished, with Wi-Fi and bills included, the facilities offer a safe and clean living environment while students live in Manchester.
