Overview

The University of Lancashire is a leading modern university with roots stretching back to 1828. Set in the heart of the energetic and friendly city of Preston in North West England, they also have UK campuses in Burnley in East Lancashire and Westlakes in Cumbria as well as 120 international partnerships. They’re a thriving international university where people from all over the world can seize the opportunities they need to succeed in education, at work and for life.

The University welcomes thousands of new international students every year into their community of around 42,000 students and staff who come from over 100 countries, creating a vibrant, multicultural environment which enriches every aspect of campus life.

They recently invested £200 million in transforming their Preston Campus into a vibrant, modern learning environment. Preston holds Purple Flag status awarded for its low crime rates, vibrant nightlife and excellent range of visitor attractions.

The University ranked as the most affordable University in the UK, The Times 2023 so your money will go further. Starting at only £85 per week, their halls rent is almost half the national average, CUG, 2024.

They have excellent international student support teams who can help with cost of living, health and wellbeing, disability or dyslexia support, visa and immigration queries. Academically you will benefit from a personal tutor and student coaches.

The University won the Best International Student Support of the Year award at TINE Africa 2024 and ranked 3rd in the UK for the mental health support they give to their students, University Mental Health League Table HUMEN 2022.

A Kenyan's experience at UCLan

I have always held UCLan in high regard since my first impression.
I've been highly impressed by the facilities, support, teaching, university layout and the vibrant flow of life between university life and city life.
