The University of Winchester is a public, semi-urban university which was established in 1840 by the Church of England. The University is located at Hampshire, in Southern England, and has around 8,000 students. Winchester has two campuses, based at King Alfred and West Downs. The university offers courses from foundation degree to PhD level. The main faculties at the university include the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Business, Law and Sport. Winchester provides a community feel for its students with first-class, sustainable facilities for learning, teaching and student life. The university is a short walk from the centre of the beautiful city of Winchester, just an hour from London and not far from the coast.
