Founded in 1896, Adelphi University is a private institution of higher education on Long Island. It has a student body of more than 8,300. Adelphi offers degrees in the arts, sciences, humanities, business, education, nursing and health maintenance, social welfare, and clinical psychology. It offers programs at 3 locations—Hauppauge Center, Manhattan Center and Hudson Valley Center—in addition to the Garden City campus, which is the main campus situated close to New York City.
