As a CGU student, one will discover countless benefits to living in student housing. Classes, a quiet place to study, and the library are all within walking distance in the small city of Claremont.
There are two options that are a short walk from the CGU campus. Claremont Collegiate Apartments offer one-bedroom and studio apartment options for CGU students and undergraduates from nearby colleges. The Oasis Residential Commons houses graduate students only and includes classroom and group meeting spaces, a gym, swimming pool, study rooms, and lounges.
Dining
On campus, Hagelbarger’s Café serves delicious food made from scratch daily, including soups, salads, pasta, sandwiches, and more—with vegetarian options. Students can also buy assorted snacks, beverages, and Starbucks coffee.
Students may dine at any of the Claremont Colleges dining halls, which offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner options for those with or without dietary restrictions.
The nearby Claremont Village lets students choose from more than 50 additional restaurants, cafes, pubs, and more.
The Claremont Colleges Libraries
The Claremont Colleges Library houses collections in the arts, humanities, sciences, social sciences, and includes nearly 2 million volumes. The library has extensive holdings of journals, magazines, and newspapers, providing access to articles in over 70,000 periodicals.
The library regularly conducts research workshops and provides reservable, graduate-only study spaces and lockers to store study materials. The library also provides access to course readings for all programs across the colleges.
Students also have access to several nearby affiliated libraries: Denison Library, located on the Scripps College campus; and the botanical and horticultural library of the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden.
