Felician University is a private institution located in New Jersey, USA, and has two campuses in Lodi and Rutherford - both of which have a regular shuttle bus service running between them. The University is one of the only Franciscan universities in New Jersey and welcomes approximately 2,130 students to study programmes at its four academic schools: Art & Sciences, Business, Education and Nursing. It has received several accolades over recent times, including being the number one Safest College Campus in the state.

Students can study abroad during their time at Felician University in Barcelona, Spain, Florence, Italy, Dublin, Ireland, or anywhere in the world they should choose. This opportunity allows students to gain new experiences abroad and learn about another culture and way of life.

The University has its own Career Development Centre, which assists students with everything from career advice to help with writing a stand-out CV and cover letter. Students can also take part in the 'college to career plan' which sees them meet regularly with a career advisor, attend graduate fairs, and apply for internships.

The University runs a wide range of clubs and societies for students to get involved in, ranging from the Irish Dance Team to the International Culture Club. Impressive facilities across the two campuses include a three-floor library, a gym, Starbucks and a game room.

Located just 12 miles from New York, students have the advantage of being close to one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities, boasting world-famous shops, restaurants, theatres, museums and parks, as well as access to leading businesses for internship opportunities.

Felician ranked as no.1 safest college campus in New Jersey

Personal safety and security on campus are important issues for students and parents, who are looking for a safe and secure environment.

According to, Felician University is ranked the No.1 Safest College Campus in New Jersey in 2018. The ranking is based on key statistics using data from the U.S. Department of Education and input from student reviews. The most up-to-date data from dozens of public data sources was analysed for the safety ranking, including campus crime statistics and the local crime grade. New Campus Gaming Room

Here are a few details about the new facility and video gaming stations:

  • Five gaming desktops with 30- inch+ gaming monitors and Corsair gaming keyboards. All tested games can be played on ULTRA with no lag or dropped frames.
  • Two console stations for students to bring their own consoles to plug in and play. Space is also provided for students to bring their own computers and equipment.
  • Internet in the 150mbs+ upload, 150mbs+ download, under 10ms ping.
  • Students can install games from their own gaming profiles, with permission from Staff.
  • Students are employed in the space to lend equipment and monitor the space.

More than 20 students can play games together in the video gaming club!

Admission to Felician University is as personalised as the education. Felician recognises that selecting a university is one of the most important decisions students will make. Its staff helps students every step of the way.

To apply, students will need to submit the following:

  • Online application for admission or submit the Common Application
  • Official copies of secondary school transcripts translated into English
  • Official college/university transcript(s) (transfer applicants only)
  • SAT scores for first time freshmen, if available. These tests are not required for international students unless applying for the Nursing programme but we do highly recommend that they are submitted in order to qualify for higher scholarship awards.
  • Personal statement (optional)
  • English proficiency exam if English is not your primary language; we accept TOEFL, IELTS or Pearson Test of English (PTE)
  • USD $30 non-refundable application fee
  • Copy of passport information page
  • Financial certifications and agreement of financial support, if applying for an F-1 student visa.

Felician University offers rolling admission for all majors except Nursing.

Residence Halls

  • Elliott Terrace

Elliot Terrace is Felician University's suite-style facility. It has a community television/activity lounge, laundry and a courtyard complete with patio and grill. Elliott Terrace residents are required to participate in the meal plan.

  • Milton Court

Milton Court houses students in suites consisting of two double-capacity rooms which are connected via a bathroom. Milton Court has a quiet study lounge, community lounges, a game/activity lounge and laundry.

Both residence halls have live-in professional staff members, as well as resident assistants. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Other facilities

Felician offers cafeterias, coffee shops, a bookstore, study lounges, academic and administrative offices, and computer labs in both Lodi and Rutherford campuses to ensure that students get the most out of their education.
And to meet the many needs of a diverse student body, it offers a wide range of resources to make student life at Felician easier and more fulfilling. These include studios, research facilities, laboratories, study labs and much more – along with having one of the world’s greatest resources only 12 miles away – New York City.

Scholarships & funding

99% of freshmen at Felician receive institutional scholarships and grants. The University offers students over USD $22million in financial aid and scholarships every year.

There are International Scholarships on offer for international students up to $15,000 for freshmen, transfer and ESL Bridge students. Our international graduate students will receive a $1,000 yearly award toward their studies.

At the undergraduate level, these scholarships are based on a holistic review of the application and those students who sit for the SATs can qualify for the higher scholarship award amounts.
