George Washington University, is generally regarded as the "other" school in Washington DC after Georgetown. Although Georgetown has the better name, GW is also respectable in its own right. Moreover, GW has better science and engineering The university is the only university that is really in the center of the city; the metro, Washington Monument, and classes are all located within walking distance. Major US cities are all accesible via Buses and metro, and are great for weekend trips. The academic quality is good, with about 33% of people who apply getting in, Nightlife is great. People who come here are usually wealthy, and because of the tuition many competitive applicants stay away. Many internationals come here, and academic life is competitive but not too competitive. show less
