Midwestern State University (MSU) was established in 1922 and over the course of a century, has grown from being a local junior college to become a member of the Texas Tech University System (TTU System), serving a wide and varied public. MSU is the only university among the 36 public institutions of higher education in Texas to become a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC). The university offers a variety of academic programs in the liberal and fine arts, sciences, mathematics, business, and applied sciences. There are also over 100 student clubs and organizations that cater to a variety of student interests and purposes. MSU’s 255-acre campus is located in city's residential area and is located midway between Oklahoma City and the Fort Worth metroplex.
