Established in 1855, Millersville University (MU), also known as ‘The Ville’, is a public institution based in Pennsylvania in the USA. Running for 160 years, the university has developed a broad range of programs, specialising in science, mathematics, humanities, social science and education.
Millersville University currently ranks 97th in the 2022 Regional Universities North (US News and World Report). MU is unique in that it offers the resources of a large university while having a close and supportive community. It also repeatedly ranks as one of the safest college campuses in the US.
Students benefit from learning in a beautiful rural location set across 250 acres, while also being close by to major US cities such as New York, Washington DC, and Philadelphia. Millersville University also sponsors 19 intercollegiate varsity sports with many competing in NCAA Division II. With a baseball pitch, golf course, fitness centre, basketball courts and swimming pool, students will be spoilt for choice when it comes to sporting facilities.
MU does not currently require students to have the Covid-19 vaccine, although it is strongly recommended. The university is operating with face to face and online classes and masks are optional on campus. Students can check for the latest Covid rules on the university website.
The university is also undergoing a campus revitalization, funded through the “imagine the possible” campaign. By September 2021, the university had raised USD 81 million for this project. MU also received the largest ever donation to the university of USD 1.5 million from Lois Morgan ’54 to renovate the Biemesderfer Stadium. This will now be known as the Morgan Athletic Complex, a state-of-the-art sports facility with new locker rooms, athletic training rooms, a new press box and a video scoreboard.
The Campus Revitalization project will also look to improve physical spaces around campus to enhance the student experience. This includes the restoration of two campus ponds and updating the chemistry laboratories.

While entry requirements do vary according to each course, the university often accepts applicants with a solid B average and an above-average SAT/ACT score. This gives students an indication of the kind of standard the university prefers.
