Minnesota State University Mankato was established in 1868 as Mankato Normal School, the state's second teacher training school. Today, Minnesota State Mankato has grown to be a doctoral institution and is striving to become an increasingly inclusive and welcoming campus. The university offers students over 130 programs from six undergraduate colleges. Minnesota State Mankato also has a well-deserved reputation for breakthrough research.
