Rockland Community College (RCC) is one of the 64 institutions in the State University of New York (SUNY), one of the largest university systems in the United States. Located about 25 miles northwest of New York City, RCC is set on a 175-acre campus in the safe suburban community of Suffern, New York. Its location is ideal for international students to enjoy New York City's rich cultural diversity as well as the scenic Hudson Valley region of New York.

Why RCC?

Hundreds of international students from around the world have begun their American university education here at RCC, with most students continuing their studies at outstanding four-year colleges and universities, including Columbia, Cornell, MIT, SUNY Stony Brook, SUNY at Buffalo, and Binghamton University. In 2016, RCC was named one of the nation’s top 150 community colleges by the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program.

In addition to an award-winning faculty, RCC offers internship opportunities, study abroad, and a campus culture that supports you as you work towards your personal and professional goals.

RCC’s nationally recognized Sam Draper Mentor/Talented Student Honors Program offers students the challenges and rewards of deeper discourse and a personalized mentoring relationship with your professors.

The Region

Located only 25 miles from New York City in the historic and scenic Hudson Valley, picturesque Rockland offers the best of all worlds, including recreational and cultural attractions and easy access to the educational and artistic resources of the city.

Students

Enrollment of about 7,000 students, including approximately 100 international students from 35 different countries.

RCC offers multiple services to ensure student success. Although Rockland is currently a non-residential campus, students enjoy the outstanding facilities of the College and become involved in a variety of activities, clubs, events, community service and athletics. The college is planning to build its first on-campus residence hall by fall 2018.

International students have access to various off-campus housing opportunities and the College can help guide students to what option may be best for them.

Easy Transfer

To facilitate the transfer process, the College has established numerous transfer agreements with private and public four-year colleges. As a member of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, RCC students, after completing an AA or AS degree, have guaranteed admission to a SUNY four year institution.

The Sam Draper Mentored/Talented Student (M/TS) Honors Program is a nationally acclaimed, rigorous academic program for liberal arts and business students seeking to transfer to premier colleges. Graduates transfer to such colleges as Harvard, Yale, Cornell, MIT, University of Pennsylvania and Smith.

Career Services

From assisting students with finding employment to help with aligning education and career goals, Career Services at RCC provides various forms of support to current students and alumni.
