Overview

Tennessee State University (TSU) is a comprehensive, co-educational, land-grant institution in Nashville, Tennessee, established in 1912. TSU’s Nashville Home offers two locations: the 500-acre main campus located in a beautiful neighborhood along the Cumberland River and the downtown Avon Williams campus near the center of Nashville’s business and government district. TSU’s world-class faculty teach students how to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world situations. The university assists in providing information on financial aid services, fellowships, and scholarships based on eligibility and other rules established by the agencies. TSU is designated as a "high research" institution by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Students can choose to participate and be a part of more than 100 student clubs, organizations, club sports and intramural teams.
