Texas State University

Texas State University traces its origins to the Southwest Texas State Normal School, which was established in 1899. Over the years, the institution underwent many changes and grew in size and stature. The current name was adopted in 2003, and the university is now home to seven academic colleges, which offer 98 bachelor’s, 90 master’s and 12 doctoral degree programs. Texas State University is located in San Marcos, which is part of the greater metropolitan area of Austin, the capital city of Texas. Texas State University is the fourth largest public university in the state of Texas.
