Overview

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) was established in 1949, with 137 students in attendance. Today, the university has grown to include nine colleges that offer programs in more than 100 areas of study to over 9,000 students. The university is recognized as one of the premier research universities in the U.S., offering a challenging curriculum that ensures graduates are prepared to become tomorrow's leaders. UAH’s students hail from 49 U.S. states and 59 countries. The university also maintains strong partnerships with federal agencies and commercial organizations, including the NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, the Missile Defense Agency, and the U.S. Army Materiel Command. UAH’s robust academic curriculum is complemented by a vibrant campus life featuring 170 student-run organizations, 14 fraternities and sororities, and 15 NCAA sports.
