In this major, you’ll learn the underlying principles and concepts of human pharmacology and toxicology beginning with foundational studies in biochemistry, physiology and molecular biology before progressing into the development, mechanisms of action, metabolism and elimination, therapeutic uses, and societal uses of drugs. You’ll also learn about the detrimental effects of poisons and toxins on the body and how they are identified in medical samples.
