Be a highly sought-after primary-school teacher by gaining your initial teaching degree at Western Sydney University. This degree prepares our graduates to teach Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) in government and non-government primary school settings and other educational fields in Australia. The Bachelor of Education (Primary) provides deep engagement in primary education through innovative approaches to teaching and learning combining on-campus and online learning experiences. These superior experiences underpinned by research evidence produce high quality graduates who are active at advancing the status of the teaching profession. To fully prepare you for your school-based professional experience placements, you study foundation subjects such as sociology for educators and educational psychology teaching content knowledge with emphasis on building capacity in literacy, numeracy and science and the full suite of primary curriculum subjects and pedagogy subjects. You may choose to study electives such as inclusive education, sustainability or science as part of your studies with a blended learning approach with both online and on campus program delivery. You will also be involved in engaged and work integrated learning, through working with a school from your first year and professional experience in a variety of primary schools.
