About this course

What will I learn?

In this major you'll learn how animals function, behave and reproduce, and how to improve their health, welfare and interaction with humans.It combines training in fundamental biological disciplines such as chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy and physiology with courses that examine animals specifically, from the molecular to whole animal and animal population levels.You'll find employment as an animal production, health and wellbeing consultant, biosecurity officer, conservationist, industry regulator in government agencies or research scientist.

Entry requirements

For international students

Bachelor of Science (or equivalent), with:

a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 on a 7-point scale, and

a GPA of at least 4.5 for 8 units of courses at level 3 or higher relevant to the honours project, and

have secured an honours project and supervisor, and

satisfied any additional requirements set by the head of school.
