What will I learn?

Throughout this major, you will learn how to teach high school students about personal development, health and physical education, motivating and encouraging them to fully engage in their learning journey. Health and physical education teachers deliver curriculum through a range of movement areas including games, sports, dance, aquatics, and athletics. They also teach students about personal development and health focusing on healthy lifestyle issues and choices, nutrition, self-esteem, knowledge about sexual health and interpersonal skills.
