What will I learn?

The Graduate Diploma in Advanced Social Work enables practising social workers to build on their knowledge of advanced social work theory and practice, and research methods. The Graduate Diploma in Advanced Social Work involves two compulsory units and a choice from a range of other advanced social work units, depending on availability. The course is open to social work graduates with a minimum of two years' experience as a professional social worker. Areas available for study include family-based practice, community and statutory practice, gender and cultural issues, issues of disability, as well as management. The Graduate Diploma in Advanced Social Work is a one-year full-time course, or up to four years part time.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have— (a) a relevant bachelor's degree or graduate certificate1, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; and (b) at least two years of experience as a professionally qualified social worker. 1A relevant graduate certificate includes a Graduate Certificate in Social Work, Graduate Certificate in Child Protection Practice, and Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Practice.
