What will I learn?

The Inclusive Education major is ideal for teachers and allied professionals who wish to gain knowledge of the theories, current research and implications for instructional practice related to supporting students with learning difficulties and disabilities in inclusive classrooms.

This course is designed to build knowledge and capability aligned with genuine inclusion, as opposed to segregated models that do not uphold the human right to inclusive education.

The Inclusive Education major in the Master of Education will draw on your prior experience, and build your knowledge to:

  • understand best practice in inclusive education.
  • strengthen your ability to lead the implementation of evidence-based inclusive practice.
  • develop skills in the design of multi-tiered systems of support and reasonable adjustments to curriculum, pedagogy and assessment in consultation with learners and in collaboration with parents, allied health professionals and teacher aides.
  • critically evaluate professional practices that support the creation of positive, safe and supportive learning environments for all learners.
