What will I learn?

This course is designed for people working across a range of health settings who are inspired to lead. This course would benefit managers within health services at every level, as well as those who support health service delivery through research and education. This program is ideal for clinicians or anyone working in the health sector who is interested in pursuing management or executive career in health care.The Master of Health Management and Leadership develops students' knowledge across the broad scope of health. This course prepares graduates to provide leadership in a range of health services and programs. Health service managers are responsible for the business of health care. Their skills are used to develop strategies to maximise the efficient and effective delivery of health services in a diverse range of health settings. Health is a global industry and graduates have a range of employment options in both the public and private sector and an opportunity to make an important contribution to the future of health services nationally and internationally. Health services practitioners work as health service or health administration managers or officers, project officers, health insurance workers, and human resource managers.Our graduates have been employed in government health departments, public and private hospitals, primary healthcare services, health insurance agencies, consultancy firms, community health services and universities.

Entry requirements

For international students

Master of Health Management - 2 year program

A completed recognised bachelor degree (or higher) with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4 (on QUT's 7 point scale) in any discipline.

Master of Health Management - 1.5 year program

Applicants who have a completed recognised bachelor degree in health, law or business with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4 (on QUT's 7 point scale) will be eligible for 48 credit points of advanced standing reducing your course duration to three semesters full-time (1.5 years).
