What will I learn?

The way we generate transport and consume energy is undergoing a retransformation so there has never been a better time than now to commence renewable engineering. There is a large global demand for expertise in renewable energy. Engineers with a focus on renewable energy will bring vision and action to the industry.You will gain valuable experience in managing projects across a range of industries and learn to manage constraints in time, cost, quality, as well as social, political and environmental challenges. This course is designed for engineers with a background in electrical and renewable power or electrical engineering looking to upskill in the field of renewable energy and data analytics. You will graduate able to analyse and evaluate problems in renewable energy using technical approaches informed by contemporary practice and leading-edge research to achieve innovative and sustainable solutions. You will emerge with cutting-edge knowledge and skills in renewable energy, specialising in renewable power enhanced by fundamental knowledge in managing engineering projects.Complete an industry project to develop a renewable energy solution which addresses an industry problem. You will plan, execute, and complete a project delivering several products relevant to an industry client. You’ll work collaboratively in a team environment to deliver a sophisticated, culturally responsible professional engineering solution.

Entry requirements

For international students

You must have a recognised four-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor degree of engineering in electrical and renewable power or electrical (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4.00 (on QUTs 7 point scale).
