What will I learn?

Engineers with skills in renewable and sustainable energy systems are in high demand, with more than 100,000 new renewable power jobs in the pipeline to achieve Queensland’s 80 per cent renewable energy target by 2035. Now is a pivotal time making to upskill in renewable and sustainable energy systems, sustainable energy policy and carbon management. In this course, you’ll gain the ability to manage entire renewable projects including management, regulatory contexts and finance. You will learn about energy storage, how to analyse and design microgrids, energy policy and energy forecasting. You will work alongside industry consultants and academic experts who are leaders in renewable energy system design and performance, energy storage, energy efficient transport, Smart Cities, climate change risk assessments, and carbon neutral strategies. Graduating with a Master of Renewable Energy will give you engineering expertise that is in high demand for an array of careers ranging from renewable energy systems design and project management, through to energy and carbon policy and carbon management.

Entry requirements

For international students

1.5-year programYou must have a recognised four-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor degree of engineering in electrical and renewable power or electrical (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4.00 (on QUTs 7 point scale).1-year programYou must have completed EV03 Bachelor of Engineering at QUT.
