What will I learn?

Graduate confident and well prepared for work, with skills gained through a program designed in consultation with industry to provide you with the ideal balance of theoretical content and practical experience.The Master of Urban Planning is designed for recent graduates in any field, and for established planning professionals.For your 2 years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) studies, you'll select from more than 20 courses, providing you with advanced knowledge of strategic structural and statutory approaches to improve built and natural environments. You'll address current problems facing cities and discuss the needs and capabilities for the future.Courses cover the legislative frameworks controlling land use, and address key issues in resource management and environmental planning. You'll also examine the role of communities in planning processes, and explore the design dimension of urban planning.You can develop your problem-solving skills during the Planning Practicum course, and undertake 200 hours of workplace experience in a planning organisation in Australia or overseas.

Entry requirements

For international students

a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, other than qualifications accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia.

You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 4.5 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.
