What will I learn?

Biology is the study of living organisms from bacteria and cells, to plants and animals. This program teaches concepts spanning from cellular structure and function, to the environment and bioinformatics, opening doors to a wide variety of future careers.In your first year in the Biology degree program, you’ll strengthen your math, research and science skills, developing a strong, flexible foundation1. An optional paid co-op, industry-oriented research and by completing an independent thesis project will provide valuable opportunities to gain experience. This is one of 3 bachelor of science programs (Biology, Chemistry, Medical Physics) that share a first-year foundation.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be considered for admission, Ontario high school students must meet the following requirements:Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)Completion of 6 Grade 12 U or M courses with a minimum overall average of 70%Completion of the following required Grade 12 U courses (minimum grade of 70% in each):English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)Advanced Functions (MHF4U)2 of Physics (SPH4U), Chemistry (SCH4U) or Biology (SBI4U)An overall average of 70% is required for consideration. Due to competition, the average needed for admission can fluctuate each year (it depends on the number of applications received and the number of spaces available). Applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma must present grades of 4 or higher in 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level subjects, including prerequisite subjects, and a total score of 28 or higher (bonus points will be accepted).
