What will I learn?

Chemists create new and useful materials and products, help protect the environment and fight diseases. In our Chemistry degree program, you’ll learn about matter and energy and how they interact, using and applying research to improve quality of life.You’ll gain experience through fully equipped labs, an optional independent laboratory research project and an optional paid co-op. You can also customize your degree with an option in Applied Physics or an optional specialization in Management Sciences. This is one of 3 bachelor of science programs (Biology, Chemistry, Medical Physics) that share a first-year foundation.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be considered for admission, Ontario high school students must meet the following requirements:Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)Completion of 6 Grade 12 U or M courses with a minimum overall average of 70%Completion of the following required Grade 12 U courses (minimum grade of 65% in each):English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)Advanced Functions (MHF4U)2 of Physics (SPH4U), Chemistry (SCH4U) or Biology (SBI4U)An overall average of 70% is required for consideration. Due to competition, the average needed for admission can fluctuate each year (it depends on the number of applications received and the number of spaces available). The grade range at the top of this page represents the average required in previous years.Applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma must present grades of 4 or higher in 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level subjects, including prerequisite subjects, and a total score of 28 or higher (bonus points will be accepted).
