What will I learn?
Computer Science (CS) is the study of computation. For any given problem, a central question is whether a solution can be computed, and, if so, what are the most efficient and practical ways to carry out the computation. Computer science also involves questions that have the potential to change how we view the world. In Computer Science at StFX, students are offered a well-rounded education in the scientific foundations of information and computation together with practical techniques for the implementation of these foundations, applicable to almost every facet of life, through an intensive, hands-on approach. You will learn about new technologies and ideas, laying the foundation for various computing careers. At one of Canada’s top undergraduate universities, you’ll get to work closely with faculty members and participate in exciting research projects.Undergraduate students can pursue a Major, Advanced Major or Honours degree in Computer Science. Our undergraduate curriculum aligns with the current guidelines of the ACM and IEEE, which are major international professional organizations that provide curriculum guidelines for computing programs. Our core courses provide a strong computing foundation, while our elective courses keep up with emerging areas and the latest industry demands.B.Sc. with Major, Advanced Major, and Honours

Entry requirements
For international students
Applicants must have English; pre-calculus math; two of biology, chemistry or physics; and one other university preparatory course in grade 12. For high school students, the minimum admission requirements include an overall average of 70% in Grade 12, with no grade below 65%, in each of the required subjects. Admissions to limited enrolment programs is competitive, meeting the minimum average does not guarantee admission.
Please note, students who are currently in grade 12, applying for early admission, must have the program requirements in grade 11, and be registered in the program prerequisites in grade 12, to be eligible for an early offer. Otherwise, offers will be made after receipt of final first term grade 12 transcript.
