What will I learn?

Completion of first-year requirements including the following courses, each with a mark of at least 60%:

1.0 course from: Physics 1301A/B, Physics 1401A/B, Physics 1501A/B or 80% in Physics 1028A/B and Physics 1302A/B, Physics 1402A/B, Physics 1502A/B or 80% in Physics 1029A/B; or the former Physics 1026

1.0 course from: Calculus 1000A/B, Calculus 1500A/B or the former Calculus 1100A/B and Calculus 1501A/B (recommended) or Calculus 1301A/B (with a mark of at least 85%); or Applied Mathematics 1413

1.0 additional course, at least 0.5 of which must be from the Faculty of Science

Students must complete Mathematics 1600A/B or the former Linear Algebra 1600A/B with a minimum mark of 55% by the end of Term 1 in Year 2.

1.0 course: Physics 2110A/B and Physics 2910F/G (or the former Physics 2900E).
1.0 course from: Astronomy 2201A/B, Astronomy 2801A/B, Physics 2810A/B, the former Physics 2700A/B, the former Materials Science 2800, the former Physics 2600A/B, the former Physics 2800.
0.5 course from: Physics 3900F/G/Z, Physics 3926F/G.
1.0 course from: Physics 3151A/B, Physics 3200A/B, Physics 3300A/B, Physics 3400A/B.

Students must also complete Physics 2950Y, Physics 3950Y (non-credit seminar courses).

Entry requirements

English Language Proficiency Requirements:

IELTS: A minimum overall band score of 6.5 is required with no part less than 6.0; TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 83 on the internet-based test with no section score below 20, and 550 on the paper-based test with a 5 on the TWE; Can TEST: A minimum overall score of 4.0 is required with no part less than 4.0; CAEL: A minimum overall score of 60 is required with no part less than 60; MELAB: A minimum overall score of 80 is required with no score less than 78; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): A minimum overall score of 58 is required with no score less than 56.
