What will I learn?

Located at Rory Gallagher Corner and the Temple Bar Music Centre (The Button Factory), Sound Training College has been setting standards in audio education for over 30 years. A variety of full and part time courses to suit all learners are offered in Music Production, Sound Engineering, Live Sound, Lighting and Festival Management. This Sound Engineering and Music Production course is focused on providing students with the essential knowledge, industry experience, contacts and opportunities required to succeed in the music industry. This includes access to Sound Training Productions, a recording and production company led by graduates and students, which offers unrivalled, unique opportunities and links with key contacts in the music industry.

Leaving CertificateUnder the new Common Points Scale for Leaving Certificate 2019 applicants must obtain a minimum of 5O6/H7, including a language. Some degree programmes will also require a minimum of O6/H7 in Maths. Please see individual course entry requirements for further details.A-LevelsApplicants must obtain four GCSE passes at grade C to include Maths and English plus one pass at A –level. FETAC/QQI Award ApplicantsMinimum entry requirements for graduates of FETAC/QQI Level 5 awards is a full FETAC/QQI Award. A full FETAC/QQI Award normally contains 8 modules. A record of achievement does not meet these minimum entry standards. Further details can be obtained from the Admissions Office.Mature ApplicantsIf you are over 23 years of age on the 1st of January on the year of admission and do not meet the minimum entry requirements, you may apply as a Mature Student.
