What will I learn?

A BA/LLB conjoint allows you to complete a BA together with an LLB in less time, and with fewer points, than it would take to complete the two degrees separately. This conjoint degree develops the skills that are essential for you to adapt and thrive in a fast-changing, globalised society. Through the study of Law, you will arm yourself with a skill set that meets the high demands of many careers, inside and outside of the legal profession. You can complement your legal study with a wide range of subjects in the humanities, social sciences, cultures and languages. Your BA/LLB study will help you to develop strong capabilities for many careers. You will develop knowledge of the law and its implications, and a sense of justice and public responsibility. Our graduates can be found practising law in New Zealand and worldwide, and pursuing the new opportunities opened up by changes and developments in society, technology and business.Communication is an interdisciplinary field that examines verbal, nonverbal and mediated communication, media texts, audiences and the role of new technologies. Your study in Communication will give you in-depth insights into how media and communication operate in society today. You will be able to develop specialist skills and knowledge by studying various forms of writing, journalism, digital and visual communications and social media. You can gain insights into audiences, technology and culture, advertising, marketing, and communications in business and the workplace. There are also opportunities to explore the relationship of the media with politics, gender and Māori.
