What will I learn?

From the fundamentals of scientific research to engineering applications, the BE(Hons)/BSc offers the skills and understanding necessary for innovation in a technologically complex ecosystem. With nine engineering specialisations and a huge selection of science majors, the BE(Hons)/BSc allows you to tailor your studies to suit your specific interests. You may consider studying complementary disciplines. For example, you could pair Exercise Sciences or Chemistry with Mechatronics to serve the increasing demand for smart devices and robotics. Alternatively you could take a School of Environment course and develop your ability to provide engineering solutions for a sustainable future. As more global industries seek people who can help to advance research and technology, your grasp of scientific and engineering principles will enable you to serve society’s needs. Engineering and Science play a vital role in addressing the key issues that confront us and future generations, so you’ll be prepared for a wide range of career opportunities. With our BE(Hons) being accredited by Engineering New Zealand, you’ll also be qualified to work in many countries outside of New Zealand.The scope of Biological Sciences (Biology) is extensive. It covers the structure and function of all living organisms, their relationships and evolutionary origins. It also looks at their interactions, and the physical and chemical worlds around them. The biological sciences have never been more important for preserving New Zealand’s economic prosperity and the natural biodiversity of our islands in the face of global threats such as climate change and population growth. Discovery in the biosciences has advanced at breathtaking speed. This has led to a new generation of therapies in health and medicine, sustainable consumer-focused products in agbiotech industries, and novel strategies for the protection of fragile ecosystems.

For international students

International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum total score of 24.General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level. You must have completed a minimum of three A-Level subjects. Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). You must have completed a minimum of three A-level subjects.
