What will I learn?

Learn songwriting/performance and/or music production/audio engineering skills, to prepare you for the creative and technical demands of today’s music industry. Songcraft and Music Production brings together the art of songwriting with the craft of audio production, giving you the tools to create, refine, and realise original music from idea to finished track.

You’ll explore songwriting, production, arranging, performance, music technology, sound design and engineering - developing both the creative and technical skills essential for today’s music industry.

Whether you’re passionate about writing songs, producing in the studio, sound designing for film or games, or integrating performance, recording and composition into a complete creative practice, this programme provides the foundation to do it all.

The University of Auckland has a strong reputation in contemporary music education, and this programme builds on that legacy with a forward-looking focus on modern music-making.
