What will I learn?

The degree of Doctor of Philosophy is awarded by the University for research carried out under the supervision of at least two staff members. A PhD can also be presented as a PhD with Publication or a PhD with a Creative Practice Component.Teaching at the University of Waikato sets you up to become a skilled and reflective teacher. Entry requirements

For international students

Candidates making enquiries about the PhD programme need sufficient information to make an informed choice about their study plans. The Graduate Advisor in the appropriate Faculty/School can be approached for initial advice on these matters. To be eligible for PhD or Higher Degree study you must have completed a Bachelor with Honours or a Masters degree, which has a significant research component. A research component must be a thesis, dissertation, or research project which makes up at least 25% of one years study of your entry qualification. Research methods papers are not counted as a research component.
