Typically these have centred on industry, medicine, transport, communications, agriculture and technology. Today, increasing emphasis is on the contributions of science to the management and conservation of our biosphere and natural resources. Lincoln University’s Graduate Diploma in Applied Science taps into your passion for solving problems by applying science. You’ll be able to stream your study towards a number of specialisations including agriculture, plant protection, environmental monitoring, ecology for nature conservation, food quality management, science and entrepreneurship.

Programme Structure

Lincoln’s Graduate Diploma in Applied Science normally requires one year of full-time study. You need 120 credits with a minimum of 75 credits at the 300 level. The remaining credits, including a maximum of 15 at 100 level, can be chosen from the Schedule of Courses.

At least 60 credits for the Graduate Diploma in Applied Science should come from the course schedules for the following degrees:

  • Bachelor of Agricultural Science
  • Bachelor of Science
  • Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited higher education institution in New Zealand Or an equivalent educational achievement or level. English Language Requirements: IELTS academic score of 6.5 overall, with no individual component less than 6.0, TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 80 (with at least 21 in writing and 18 in Speaking), Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and First (FCE) overall score of 176, with no individual component less than 169, Pearson Test of English (Academic) overall score of 58 with no communicative score of less than 50. Lincoln University English Language GCAE or LU EL 70%. NZ Certificates in English Language (NZCEL) - Level 5 (Academic or Professional Endorsement)

For international students
