What will I learn?

The Graduate Diploma will also prepare you to study that subject at postgraduate level, such as the Bachelor of Arts with Honours or the Master of Arts. The GDipArts can be completed in two trimesters when studied full time, or in up to four years if you're studying part time. You don't need to have a Bachelor of Arts to complete a GDipArts-graduates with any undergraduate degree can enrol. Get a comprehensive view of the history of art and study historical and contemporary works from a New Zealand perspective. Learn to think about art as a product of a particular social and cultural setting, and to use this knowledge to make sense of the work. Explore different artistic forms including painting and sculpture, photography and performance while developing transferable skills in research, writing and visual interpretation.

Entry requirements

For international students

You need a Bachelors degree with at least a B average unless stated otherwise in the programmes minimum general entry requirements. A background in a particular subject area or extensive relevant work experience may be required. Students with equivalent international qualifications from a recognised institution are encouraged to apply. Each application is assessed individually, and entry into postgraduate programmes is at the discretion of the programme director.
