What will I learn?

The Graduate Diploma will also prepare you to study that subject at postgraduate level, such as the Bachelor of Arts with Honours or the Master of Arts. The GDipArts can be completed in two trimesters when studied full time, or in up to four years if you're studying part time. You don't need to have a Bachelor of Arts to complete a GDipArts-graduates with any undergraduate degree can enrol. Study the theories and philosophies at the heart of politics. Examine political ideas including libertarianism, socialism and colonisation. Analyse social movements and the ideas behind them, including in gender equality, religious fundamentalism and environmentalism. Learn about the history, development and structure of New Zealand's political system, and enhance your understanding of the nature of power by comparing political systems from all over the world.

Entry requirements

For international students

You need a Bachelors degree with at least a B average unless stated otherwise in the programmes minimum general entry requirements. A background in a particular subject area or extensive relevant work experience may be required. Students with equivalent international qualifications from a recognised institution are encouraged to apply. Each application is assessed individually, and entry into postgraduate programmes is at the discretion of the programme director.
