What will I learn?

The Master of Arts (Thesis) is composed of a substantial body of original research in a wide variety of Arts subjects. It provides the opportunity to contribute to new knowledge in the field and build on academic skills. MA(Thesis) students within Te Kaupeka Toi Tangata Faculty of Arts benefit from: a lively and supportive postgraduate culture access to world-class research centres in the humanities and social sciences. Those interested in coursework-based studies and internship opportunities in their subject may consider the Master of Arts.

Entry requirements

For international students

You will need to have qualified for a Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree (or other qualifications of an equivalent standard) within one of the Arts subjects offered in the MA(Thesis).

With approval, you may be able to complete the MA(Thesis) in a different subject from your BA(Hons) qualification.

Note: The Child and Family Psychology major has other requirements - see the Regulations for the Master of Arts (Thesis) for more information.

One or more courses in this degree may also require vaccinations.
