As an accounting or finance specialist in your chosen organisation you could be involved in a varied range of tasks. For example, creating and managing cash budgets or carrying out financial audits. This course will provide you with a thorough grounding in all areas of accounting and finance before offering you the opportunity to specialise. You will graduate with a real idea of what lies behind any successful organisation – how it is financed and managed.

  • You’ll be able to connect with leading accounting firms thanks to our Partners in Accountancy scheme. The Partners in Accountancy firms will offer accountancy and finance students direct input to their studies from leading case studies on technical and professional areas and providing careers support.
  • In your third year we’ll give you the opportunity to take a placement year that could see you employed in a graduate level position in an organisation.

Your Career

Previous graduates from this course have gone in to roles such as Operations Analyst, Finance Manager, Assistant Fund Accountant, Assistant Accountant as well as entering into professional accountancy training contracts with companies such as PwC, Lloyds Banking Group, GE Capital, KPMG, The Department for Work and Pensions, Jaguar Land Rover, Bonmarche, DePuy International, Stagecoach, Russell Smith Chartered Accountants and Bradford NHS Trust, to name but a few.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

A Levels must include A2 Mathematics (use of Mathematics is not an acceptable A Level) and at least one other Science/Technology subject (or equivalent qualifications). In addition to A2 Mathematics, A Levels must include at least one of the following: Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Mathematics, Mechanics, Dynamics, Architecture or General Engineering.
