What will I learn?

Course overviewBiology is the science of life and is at the forefront of social change, from the use of genetically-modified organisms to humanity’s effect on the environment, sustainable energy and food production. At Kent you'll gain the skills, knowledge and support to help build a better tomorrow.You study living organisms and their interactions with the environment, investigating life forms ranging from viruses and bacteria to complex animals and plants. You’ll learn from inspirational academics working at the cutting-edge of research with access to fantastic facilities.AccreditationOur Biology degree is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB). How you'll studyTeaching includes lectures, laboratory classes, workshops, problem-solving sessions and tutorials. You have an Academic Adviser who you meet with at regular intervals to discuss your progress, and most importantly, to identify ways in which you can improve your work further so that you reach your full potential.Your futureGraduate with an excellent grounding in scientific knowledge and extensive laboratory experience. During your studies, you’ll also develop key transferable skills in research, critical thinking, analytical abilities and problem solving.Our dedicated Careers and Employability team are here to support you with a range of workshops to develop your skills and confidence at every stage of your degree. Entry requirements

For international students

Typical offer: UCAS points - 104-120, A level – BBB (Contextual offer: BC including Biology at B or Applied Science Double Award at BC), BTEC – DDM (Contextual offer: MMM), IB - 120 tariff points - typically H5, H6, H6 including Biology 5 at HL, GCSE – Mathematics grade C/4. Other Qualifications – T level: Merit overall in Science with a minimum of grade B in the core (including grade B in the paper B written examination, Access to HE diploma - A typical offer would be to obtain Access to HE Diploma with 24 Level 3 credits at Distinction, 18 level 3 credits at Merit and 3 level 3 credits at Pass (assuming syllabus is satisfactory) in Combined Science.
