What will I learn?

Biomedical science studies the human body, diseases, and how to treat them. Molecular science studies molecules and their interactions.Together, biomedical and molecular sciences study living things to understand how they work. They look at cells, genes, and molecules to find out how they affect health and disease. They also help develop new medicines, therapies, and diagnostic tools.This master's course focuses on key areas in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors. It will help prepare you for a future in these industries.You'll gain knowledge and skills that employers are looking for. This includes understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms of a range of diseases. This can help develop better ways of diagnosing and treating disease.You'll carry out research with world-leading researchers who are at the top of their field. This could be work on a laboratory based project which will look at a real life issue.You'll also experience the latest technologies related to:data analysiscell imagingprotein and proteome analysiscell culture and manipulation – including of stem cells.You'll have access to technologies that are of industry standard. These include drug discovery and phenotypic screening technologies. These are rarely found in an academic setting.You'll become an efficient problem solver and a successful project manager. You'll develop skills that will prepare you for your future career. This could be in academia, industry, or a range of other exciting possibilities.

A UK Lower Second-Class Honours (2:2) degree. Your degree should be in biological, biochemical, or biomedical sciences or a related discipline.
