BSc (Hons) Cyber Security (Foundation Entry) with Sandwich Year

UK

What will I learn?

Security is now a crucial part of business. Our Cyber Security Foundation Entry degree gives you the highly sought-after skills and knowledge to build secure and compliant systems. Foundation Entry degree courses are ideal if you’ve got the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to directly join an honours programme. It’s a great stepping stone to a full degree. The cyber security sector is facing a significant skills gap at a time when threats and the consequences of inadequate security are increasing, so your skills will be in high demand. You’ll gain skills in identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities in computer networks and systems, as well as learning how to protect them against hacker attacks. On our Cyber Security Foundation Entry degree you’ll be able to turn your interest in programming computer networks and security into a rewarding career. You could go on to be a Security Consultant, Ethical Hacker / Penetration tester, Secure System Architect or Security Engineer. Or you could work as a Security Research Assistant, Forensic Investigator or Consultant. This course could also open doors to rewarding careers in the Police, IT System Management or as a Network Administrator.
Our sandwich degrees offer the perfect blend of academic study and practical work experience, allowing you to build confidence in the workplace and graduate work-ready from your degree programme.

Our previous graduates have found their sandwich year particularly beneficial as it has allowed them to gain practical, hands-on experience within their chosen career and the opportunity to learn directly from professionals based out in industry. It is not uncommon for sandwich year programmes to also open up future work opportunities in similar fields or professions for our graduates.
