What will I learn?

**This four-year degree will give you a solid grounding in the fundamentals of chemistry with an emphasis on research. Our MChem graduates are eligible to apply for Chartered Chemist status.**If you're interested in studying a PhD and embarking on a career as a scientific researcher, our accredited MChem Chemistry is the course for you. During the first two years, you will focus on developing your understanding of how chemistry shapes our world. There is greater emphasis on critical analysis, synthesis and problem-solving in years three and four, with an extended research project in an area of your interest during your final year.You will study core topics on physical, organic, inorganic, and solid-state chemistry, with the opportunity to take a wide range of optional modules from green and sustainable chemistry and drug development to heterogeneous catalysis and engineering biosynthesis.
