What will I learn?

Study for a degree in Construction Management at ARU. This course focuses on key stages and processes of planning, construction and maintenance – ranging from building design and technology to resource management and project administration. Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), giving you maximum opportunity to gain industry-critical skills. Utilise world-class facilities including mechanical engineering workshops and concrete, geotechnics, hydraulics, and structures labs. Benefit from strong industry links with professional institutions, local firms and experts to increase your employability within the construction industry. Work with expert staff whose wide range of industrial and academic backgrounds make learning more real, hands-on and relevant.Based in Chelmsford or Peterborough, you’ll use industry-standard surveying equipment and the latest in computer-aided design, 3D modelling, project management and financial software. You can choose to take a placement year and further develop your professional skills, as you work towards becoming a chartered construction professional. The construction industry is one of the most dynamic, diverse and significant in the world. We live, work and play in the built environment, and our Construction Management degree course will develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of the technology and management involved in its creation.With an eye on your future, we encourage you to attend regular CPD events to start to build your own industry networks. The course offers opportunities to visit a variety of construction sites, listen to guest lectures from industry experts, and get the most up-to-date industry information as well as being taught by staff with both extensive industrial and professional experience alongside an academic and research pedigree.
